FunPlus x Games for Change collaboration announces a new Character Design Award
A new collaboration for the Games for Change Student Challenge, a national game design program and competition in the US that combines students’ love of video games with civic engagement and digital storytelling, was announced today by FunPlus, one of the biggest independent mobile game developers and publishers in the world. A 19-year-old nonprofit organization called Games for Change (“G4C”) equips game designers and inventors to create change in the real world.

A Character Design apprenticeship with CAW has been sponsored by FunPlus since 2020, and the G4C partnership expands on this dedication to support the upcoming generation of artists and possible future video game talent.

Students will be given the task of creating a video game character as part of the Character Design Award competition with the assistance of G4C and character design professionals from FunPlus. Beginning in early 2023, FunPlus artists and creators from around the world will support educators’ professional growth by judging submitted projects, giving masterclasses to participating students, and conducting masterclasses for educators.
