Persona 5 Royal Sells 1.8 Million Copies, Persona 4 Golden on PC Sells 900,000

The Persona series continues to perform well for Atlus. In the company’s recent fiscal report detailing sales figures as of March 31st 2021, it revealed that Persona 5 Royal had sold 1.8 million copies since first launching for Japan in October 2019. But perhaps more surprising is that Persona 4 Golden on PC has sold 900,000 copies since releasing in June 2020.

The last major sales milestone was in July 2020 with 500,000 players reported for the PC version. Persona 5 Strikers, as noted in April, has sold over 1.3 million units thus far. As for the series overall, it’s sold over 15 million units worldwide with both physical and digital units factored. Atlus reported series sales to be 13.1 million units in November 2020.

It should be interesting to see where the series goes from here, especially with Persona 3 Portable also rumored to be coming to Steam. There’s also Project Re Fantasy, a new fantasy RPG in development at Studio Zero with Persona series producer Katsura Hashino at the helm. It’s supposed to receive an announcement this year with development apparently reaching its climax as of December 2020. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
