It’s “All Against All” in Paknadel and Wijngaard’s New Image Series, and More
Via AIPT, Image Comics imprint Syzygy have announced “All Against All,” a five-part sci-fi horror series from writer Alex Paknadel (“Friendo”) and artist Caspar Wijngaard (“Home Sick Pilots”), as well as letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. Described by Paknadel as “What if Tarzan were the xenomorph from Alien?,” the book is set in the far future, and follows Helpless, the sole human inhabitant of an alien sanctuary created to preserve the most savage lifeforms from Earth.
Per the official synopsis, the aliens, known as the Operators, are conquerors with “no bodies of their own,” who “move from world to world, harvesting bodies for the organic exosuits they use to wage their endless wars.” As “their efforts to find and harvest an apex predator intensify, [Helpless] gives them far more than they bargained for.” Paknadel and Wijngaard further promise “a heady survival horror” story involving a human stalking aliens aboard their space station, “fast, smart and brutal,” with “dark, nuanced humour.”
In more Image news, the publisher announced “Hexware,” a supernatural cyberpunk comic written by Tim Seeley (“Hack/Slash”) with art by Zulema Scotto Lavina (“Red Sonja,” “The Little Mermaid”). Created in collaboration with Italy’s Arancia Studio, the six-issue series follows an android maid, Which-Where, who calls upon dark magic to solve the murder of the daughter of the family she serves. Seeley, who describes the series as being heavily influenced by “horror manga and sci-fi anime,” says the comic is “part cyberpunk, part fantasy, and all about love, loss, and dark deals. Pull up a spell book and get your cyber-pagan on.”
“All Against All” and “Hexware” will both begin on December 7. You can catch out a preview, as well as more from the creators, and a list of covers, for each title respectively here and here.
